Mommy Blog: God's Protection

This year has been my daughters first year of school and with that there has been many challenges but also great success.

Being in the public school system, there are many things taught or shown at school, that as a Christian mother, I do not always agree with. I also know that God has our children walk through circumstances so they know how to face things on their own, without mommy.

My daughter and I pray every morning and evening together for protection while she is at school and that she will have a good day.

Around Christmas time, they were showing a lot more movies at school as I guess the teachers needed a break. 😊 One day they decided to show the kids a movie that I have never allowed my kids to watch at home as my daughter is sensitive and does seem to scare easy.

When this movie was shown, there were some terrible parts with a monster etc. (I watched the scene on YouTube to get an idea of how scary it was) When this part of the movie came, my daughter said her friend beside her was scared too. They both decided to hold hands and close their eyes until the scary scene had ended. Both girls were happy to have one another in that moment and my daughter even said that her friend helped her not be embarrassed that she had to close her eyes because she was scared.

When I shared this story with my mom, we both felt God gave my daughter that friend to help her through that moment and now when either girl does feel uneasy they know that they can trust one another with their feelings.

God is always protecting us even through the things that we may find silly or just day to day stuff. God gives us people in our lives for a reason, even if they are only with us for a season.

This story helps me remember that God is always with us and prayer is so important. As a mother, please pray for your children as you never know when they will be faced with a situation where only God is there to help them. Also pray with them so they learn to pray about everything they face on their own.
