Mommy Blog:  Pray with Discernment

Last night our little 2 year old woke up around 3:30 am.  Not sure how many of you have a 2 year old or have had one however whether you refer to it as the ‘terrible 2s’ or ‘terrific 2s’ is determined by the day you are having right?

Anyway, I went into his room and held him as I prayed.  I think sometimes we forget that it’s not just the natural realm that can disturb our kids, sometimes it can be things in the spirit too.  Immediately a peaceful rest came over him and fell asleep.  Not only did he sleep the rest of the night he slept in 2 hours and woke up happy and bright giving us all a great day.

I encourage you to ask God for discernment in regards to your prayers for your children.  Even if they are only 2 years old they need your prayers beyond just a quick glance to heaven over a scraped knee or disagreement with a sibling when you would prefer things were quiet.  Ask God for spiritual understanding and wisdom as he promises to give it to us if we ask, believing.

The beginning of Wisdom is: get Wisdom (skillful and godly Wisdom)! [For skillful and godly Wisdom is the principal thing.] And with all you have gotten, get understanding (discernment, comprehension, and interpretation).   Prov 4:7 AMPC
